Our Values
Erin Nicklin
Director & Senior Speech Pathologist
BSpPath (Hons), MSPA CPSP
Erin is the founder and heart behind Each Speech Pear Plum. A paediatric speech pathologist since 2015, she’s known for her playful sessions, deep connection with children, and thoughtful, family-focused care. Whether she’s blowing bubbles, bringing a puppet to life, or gently supporting a tricky moment, Erin creates spaces where little ones feel safe, seen, and celebrated.
Erin is passionate about creating a practice that reflects her values: child-led, neurodivergent-affirming, play-based therapy that supports both the child and their wider world. She is deeply committed to making high-quality therapy more accessible, and is working toward a sustainable model that includes training and supervising student speech pathologists — ensuring families can access affordable support while nurturing the next generation of clinicians.
One of the most meaningful outcomes families share is the way their child’s confidence grows through therapy with Erin — not just in their communication skills, but in how they see themselves.
Beyond the therapy room, Erin is just as passionate about supporting her colleagues. She believes therapists deserve to thrive, and is on a mission to create a workplace culture where connection, flexibility, creativity, and joy are part of the everyday.
When Erin’s not in the clinic, you’ll find her in the garden, adventuring with her family, or making snacks for her two wild and wonderful children.

Bonnie Waters

She’s a big believer in the power of play, patience, and cheering kids on every step of the way — whether they’re smashing goals or just giving things a red-hot go.

Sam Nicklin
Co-Founder (Mostly Behind the Scenes)
Sam is the unofficial co-founder, occasional tech wrangler, and all-around supportive sidekick of Each Speech Pear Plum — also known as Erin’s husband. While he’s not currently involved in the day-to-day running of the practice, Sam played a big role in helping the clinic get off the ground and still keeps one eye on the big picture when he’s not wrangling kids or fixing garden tools.
He’s part of the heart behind our family-run model — and definitely the one making sure the compost bin doesn’t overflow.
